Heartbreak Anniversary

There are dates that stay with us. Sometimes they remind us of joy. Sometimes they remind us of people we no longer know. Instead of avoiding those dates, what if we gathered around them?

Heartbreak Anniversary is an intimate evening of poetry, performance, and collective remembrance. Coinciding with the launch of Citra’s latest zine, this event transforms a personal anniversary into a shared space for anyone who has experienced heartbreak, grief , endings, or change.

The evening is not about dwelling in loss alone. It is about acknowledging that healing rarely happens in isolation. It happens through conversations after midnight, friends who check in, chosen family who stay, strangers whose words make us feel less alone. Through readings, guest performances, and an open mic, we invite people to bring whatever they are carrying—heartbreak, nostalgia, gratitude, anger , relief , hope—and leave knowing they are part of a community that understands.

This is an evening for broken hearts, but also for the people who helped put those hearts back together . A celebration of grief . A celebration of survival. A celebration of love that remains.
