About the event
An open discussion on the structural challenges facing Indonesia’s comics ecosystem—from education and publishing to distribution, policy, and market behavior—using the research in “Comiplexities: Mapping Indonesian Comics” as a reference point. Led by the book’s author and researcher, Gideon Hutapea, the conversation brings together creators, academics, practitioners, and readers to unpack why the scene has struggled to grow sustainably and what could realistically change that.
