About the event
Same Page is a two-weekend programme by HELP and Margin Library, inviting us into the cross-cultural journeys of refugees through intimate conversations, book clubs, and poetry readings, creating space to encounter stories across borders, experiences, and ways of belonging.
In this third and last session, Same Page - Verses Without Borders: A Poetry Exchange reframes a poetry reading as a two-way exchange, held in collaboration with Jakarta Poetry Slam (JPS) and poetry enthusiasts from the HELP refugee community. Guests hear poems rooted in culture and journey, complete with the stories and translations behind them, before the mic opens to everyone. The evening celebrates the languages and literary traditions within HELP, giving guests space to see refugees as poets, storytellers, and contributors in their own right—not just subjects of a story.
HELP is a refugee-led organization that helps empower fellow refugees and build resilience and hope in our community in Jakarta.
