
Terms & Conditions
By purchasing a membership from Margin, you agree to the following terms and conditions. These Terms govern your access to and use of our services, including the use of our library and third space.

I. MEMBERSHIP ELIGIBILITY
Membership is open to individuals aged 12 years and older. By signing up, you confirm that all information provided is accurate and up-to-date. Margin reserves the right to approve or decline membership applications at its discretion.

II. MEMBERSHIP USE
Membership grants you access to Margin during operational hours, subject to availability and any specific access terms based on your membership tier. Memberships are non-transferable and valid only for the individual registered. Members are expected to respect the space, staff, and other members. Disruptive behavior may result in suspension or termination of membership without refund.

III. BORROWING BOOKS
Unlimited, free book borrowing is included in Margin membership, within the period of the membership. Members are allowed to borrow at maximum of two books each time for two weeks. ​

IV. LATE RETURN POLICY
On the day your book is due, our Library Assistant will send you a gentle WhatsApp reminder. If you’re just a day late, don’t worry — we offer a one-day grace period. After that, there’s a small late fee of IDR 15,000 per day, payable on-site or by transfer
V. BOOK DAMAGE POLICY
Before book borrowing checkout, our Library Assistant will assess the book's condition and document any damage or stains that are pre-existing. We'd recommend that you do the same to avoid any misunderstanding, if any. When the book is returned, our Library Assistant will re-check the book's condition and assess whether any damage or stains exist post-return.

We understand accidents happen — but since our books are at the heart of Margin, we do have fines to help care for the collection. Fines are based on the level of damage, assessed by our Library Assistant:

Minor damage (fine is between 10–25% of book value): Small stains that don’t cover text or affect readability, light water stains, or slight wear to the cover. (Given their rarity, for Leema Library x Margin books, minor damage counts as medium.)

Medium damage (fine equals 50% of book value): Stains or water damage that blur but don’t fully erase text, or affect a few pages’ shape/structure. (Given their rarity, for Leema Library x Margin books, medium damage counts as major.)

Major damage or loss (fine equals 100% of book value or full replacement): Severe water damage, burnt stains, fading text, warped pages, or lost books due to borrower negligence. In cases of major damage or loss, you can either pay the full market value or replace it with a new, original copy.

VI. MEMBERSHIP DURATION & RENEWAL
Memberships are available on a monthly, semester (6 months), or annual basis. Memberships begin on the date of activation (i.e., the date when Margin sends a confirmation / welcome email and WhatsApp message). Renewal reminders will be sent before your membership expires. Margin is not responsible for lapsed access due to unrenewed memberships.

VII. CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS
All membership purchases are final and non-refundable. Margin does not offer prorated refunds for early cancellations. In special cases of illness, relocation, or other emergencies, you may submit a written request to knock@margin-space.com. Refunds, if any, are issued at Margin’s discretion.

VIII. CHANGES TO SERVICES
Margin may occasionally revise its operating hours, membership benefits, or access policies. We will notify members of any material changes via email and/or announcements in the space. We reserve the right to temporarily close the space for events, maintenance, or unforeseen circumstances. Reasonable notice will be provided where possible.

IX. PRIVACY & DATA USE
We value your privacy. Personal data collected during membership sign-up will be used only for internal communication, administration, and service improvement. Your information will never be sold or shared with third parties without your consent.

X. LIABILITY
Margin is not responsible for personal belongings lost, stolen, or damaged within the premises. Members use the space at their own risk. Please act with care and consideration.
